High Blood Pressure or ‘Hypertension’ is usually defined as having a sustained blood pressure of 140/90mmHg or above. 40%
of adults in Britain are affected by high blood pressure which is often symptomless and therefore is often only
diagnosed during a routine check up. In some cases when the pressure gets very high symptoms such as headaches,
eye problems and chest pains maybe present. High blood pressure is a risk factor for serious cardiovascular disease
such as heart disease or a stroke.

Hydes Herbal Clinic will carry out a full health history and physical examination where we will check your blood pressure,
listen to your heart and check your circulation. We will also check your blood sugar and blood iron levels and we have

Hydes Case History
A 66 year old woman suffering with high blood pressure with average readings of 160/96 mmHg and highs of 177/102mmHg
came to Hydes for help to bring her blood pressure back into the normal range. The patient was also suffering with headaches and poor sleep. A full case history was taken and a physical examination carried out where her blood pressure was taken and her heart listened to and circulation assessed. We also carried out a cholesterol test. After the consultation, the patient was prescribed an individual herbal medicine and a carefully selected Hyde’s formulae herbal tablet to treat her raised blood pressure. After 2 months of treatment the patient’s blood pressure has come back within normal range to 130/88mmHg and her treatment continues in order to reduce it even further. She no longer suffers with headaches and her sleep is now good.
High blood pressure or Hypertension means that your heart has to work particularly hard to pump the blood around your
